Season 2, Episode 35: Dark Obsession: Overcoming Childhood Sexual Abuse
Child sexual abuse, especially when it involves incest, it not a topic many people want to hear about. But we can’t solve problems if we don’t know they exist. On this episode of The Unlovely Truth I interview Mischelle Saunders-Gottsch. Mischelle is the founder of Altered Stories Ministries where she helps women share their stories of how God altered their lives. Her Altered Stories podcast has shared stories of triumphing over many types of abuse, something she has personal experience with as well.
According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), in 2016 Child Protective Services agencies substantiated, or found strong evidence to indicate that over 57 THOUSAND children were victims of sexual abuse. Over one third of those victims were assaulted by a family member. It’s not an easy subject to talk about but for the sake of the victims, we must.
